I've always enjoyed writing, and really haven't done anything with it until late last year. As a kid and young adult, I mostly wrote poetry. I remember an instance when my mother read something I wrote and proclaimed, "Huh, I never knew you had this in you!" All I can say that we, as young adults and teenagers, harbor a lot of stuff inside, things that are easier to express as we get older. Many turn to writing poetry.
As a full-fledged adult (gasp!), I find that I'm more interested in writing about life experiences, and I have plenty of them, in hopes that if it were to help just one person, then its mission accomplished. But I don't want to just focus on the bad; therefore, I've resolved to do well-researched articles on other things that interest me, things that I'm very passionate about, or are informational. Who knows? I may learn a thing or two in the process.
There are times I feel a little overwhelmed in that I think maybe something has been written about, perhaps in my mind it may be over saturated and I shouldn't write about it. I have found, though, that perhaps I can bring something fresh, a new spin, on any particular subject that I'm interested in.
I feel blessed to have found two forums in which to write to. Whereas one allows me to write about anything I want to (within reason, of course), the other one has topics to write to. Each site, in their own ways, brings out my creativity and allows me to grow as a writer. I think I'm over my initial insecurities and now I feel ready to show them what I have, because I know the talent is there, I just need to fine-tune it and go for it.
Wish me luck!

Kenzy's Muse
What do you do when you have a lot of free time and enjoy writing? You become a freelance writer, of course!
I've always enjoyed bringing words to life, but when I started having children, I was consumed by taking care of them and writing went by the wayside. They are all older now, my oldest is 22 and my youngest will soon be 16 years old, and the ol' writing bug struck me once again and I began thinking about freelancing.
I started with doing some research about different companies that I had heard about and landed on two -- Helium and AC. As of this date, I have a total of 19 published articles and have just submitted another one for approval. I would like to have at least 200 articles published on AC by mid-July.
In addition to my freelance writing gigs, I hope to one day become a published author. I have so many different ideas running around in my head about possible plots and genres. Generally, I like fantasy, but I also enjoy anything with action (which is why I love reading Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series and basically anything else he writes).
Crossing my fingers that one day I can pull something out of my hat and make it a hit!
